Cold Weather Notice!

With the temperature outside in the teens and with
the wind chill factor, it feels more like single digits!
The Mission is filled to capacity. People are
sleeping on mats anywhere they can find a warm spot to
curl up. At our Center for Women & Children, we've
turned an exercise room into a shelter area for single
women. There are many seeking shelter at our doors and,
while those numbers are up, we continue to work to
provide safe shelter and a welcoming atmosphere for all
who come.
With only a few hundred beds in all
our facilities, we're caring for more men, women and
children each night than we can comfortably accommodate.
But it's what needs to be done to avoid potentially
fatal exposure outside. This also means we're
serving more meals – almost 1,000 a day!
Demand
for services is up in every department and at every
facility, not only due to the bone-chilling weather, but
also because of economic hardships.
We are so
grateful to have partners like you to enable us to
provide these vital services. Please pray for
those who are in need of a hot meal and a warm place to
stay and if you're in a position to
make a secure
financial contribution, we will put it to work
immediately.
Sincerely,

Rick Alvis,
President/CEO
