In This Issue National Family Week: Nov 22 - 28 Dropouts costing $1.1 Billion Annually |
Happy Thanksgiving!Thank you for your generous support and continued interest in the Boys & Girls Clubs in LA County. This Fall has been busy times for our Clubs with many youth joining the Clubs since their positive experiences with us this past summer. A few weeks ago, the LA Times reported that High School Dropouts cost California $1.1 billion annually in juvenile crime costs! A reprint of the article is linked at the bottom of this newsletter. This news is not acceptable to Boys & Girls Clubs and we are going to work even harder this school year to help our kids achieve academic success. We hope you will join with us in helping us financially support our youth members and take advantage of our $25,000 challenge gift opportunity before the end of the year. Again, on behalf of our nearly 105,000 young people and the caring staff in LA County, thank you and Happy Thanksgiving. Sincerely,
|

Hard Work Pays Off!Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. Not only does it recognize that a young man or woman has made outstanding contributions to their family, school and community, but that they have overcome personal challenges and obstacles as well. |
