Cold Weather Alert!

With even more snow falling and icy conditions causing power outages and hazards on the roads, the weather outside is certainly frightful!
While most Indiana forecasters agree that more cold weather is on the way, they also agree on this – residents should stay home to avoid the bitter cold and dangerous conditions outside.
But what happens to those people who don’t have a home to stay inside? Those who call the streets home, even when it is freezing outside?
With only a few hundred beds in all our facilities, we're caring for more men, women and children each night than we can comfortably accommodate. It's what needs to be done to avoid potentially fatal exposure outside.
But it also means we're serving more meals – over 680 meals a day! Our emergency shelter and center for women and children are also filled to capacity. We are scrambling to shelter families and mothers with children wherever we can.
We are thankful for your willingness to partner with us in providing services that warm bodies – and hearts – during such fierce weather. Please pray for those who are in need of a hot meal and a warm play to stay. And if you're able to make a secure financial contribution, there are hundreds of ways we will put it to work immediately.
Sincerely,

Rick Alvis,
President/CEO
